- We offer a soft start for the Morning session from 8:30-8:45am and Afternoon session from 12:30-12:45pm. During this time children join their key worker to practise a range of skills such as fine motor, maths, reading or Physical Development.
- We also offer a soft finish at the end of the school day for Nursery Children. They can be collected anytime between 3.15pm and 3.30pm.
In Nursery each session the children take part in teacher led tasks in small groups. Children are able to self-select activities throughout the classroom. Within this time the children are also able to free-flow between the indoor and outdoor environments as they please. Throughout the week children also have 3 phonics sessions.
We offer a soft start to the school day in Reception to Year 2. Children can come into class between 8.45am- 8.55 am.
- In Reception this time is used to practise key skills such as fine motor, writing, and Physical Development using our program Fitter future.
- In Key Stage 1 this time is for children to practice key skills such as maths targets, handwriting and reading.
Children take part in teacher led tasks in small groups throughout the day. Children are able to self-select activities throughout the classroom and in the shared creative area. Within this time the children are also able to free-flow between the indoor and outdoor environments as they please. Children have a phonics lesson before lunch 4 days a week.
KEY STAGE 1
The morning normally consists of guided reading, maths and creative curriculum learning. During the afternoons children have a phonics lesson straight after lunch followed by creative curriculum learning or P.E.
Each week children participate in assemblies that support key social, moral, spiritual and cultural themes and around our four school values.
We celebrate children's achievements awarded during school and out of school during a whole school assembly.
We also celebrate our excellent attendance with 'Mr Cuddles' our attendance bear, awarded to the class with the best attendance and punctuality.
