School Welfare Officer – Mrs Beverley MacLachlan

Your child’s wellbeing is important to us.  If, at any time, they are unwell or have an accident, we have several members of staff trained in first aid.  If your child has a medical care plan or has any new medical  needs, you must inform our Welfare Officer, Mrs Maclachlan  office@hillsideinfant.org.uk

All prescribed medication, including creams, will need a “Consent Form” which is available at the bottom of this page, completed and sent in with the medication and with the child’s name on the label from the pharmacy. School will maintain a written record of consent for agreeing to administer medication.

No over-the-counter medication can be given in school unless we have permission from parents/carers first.

All accidents and incidents are recorded and where necessary, parents will be called.

If your child is unwell and won’t be attending school/nursery, please ensure you call the office on 0208 249 6860 by 8.30 each day to inform the school and give the reason for absence.

It is our policy to follow the guidelines set out by the NHS for all illnesses. You can find more information about illnesses here: Is my child well enough for school?

Winter/Spring

Please ensure that your child brings a coat into school every day.  Please put your child’s name on the items of clothing, including gloves, hats and scarves.

Summer/Hayfever

We know that a number of children need antihistamines. We ask that you give this to your child before school but if they need it again before they come home please complete a consent form and email it to office@hillsideinfant.org.uk

Summer hats are encouraged in warm weather and if they suffer from hayfever, they may wear sunglasses, but the school will not take responsibility for loss or damage.  Sunscreen should be applied before school.
