
School lunches at Hillside Infant School are provided by our caterers, HCL, who use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients to create healthy, balanced and enjoyable meals for children.
Meals are ordered online through SchoolGrid, HCL’s booking system. Parents and carers are asked to place lunch orders by 8:55am each morning, although meals can also be ordered a full term in advance.
For primary school pupils with food allergies or intolerances, parents and guardians can access HCL's Allergy Management System. This system ensures that your child’s food medical requirements are managed – click here

Children may choose to bring a healthy packed lunch from home as an alternative to a school meal.
A healthy packed lunch helps children stay focused and full of energy throughout the school day. Below are some simple, child-friendly ideas:
Sandwiches & Wraps
Wholemeal bread, rolls or wraps
Fillings such as cheese, egg, tuna, chicken, ham or hummus
Add salad items like cucumber, lettuce or grated carrot
Fruit & Vegetables
Fresh fruit (e.g. apple slices, grapes cut lengthways, berries, banana)
Vegetable sticks such as carrot, cucumber or peppers
Cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
Healthy Snacks
Plain yoghurt or fromage frais
Rice cakes, breadsticks or oatcakes
Cheese cubes or slices
Drinks
Water
Milk
