  • Celebrating Success

At Hillside Infant School, we believe every child’s success deserves to be celebrated. From academic achievements to positive attitudes, reading success and excellent attendance, we recognise progress in many different ways so that every child has the opportunity to shine. Our celebrations help build confidence, motivation and pride, while reinforcing the values that matter most in our school community.

    How We Celebrate Achievement

    🌟 What We Celebrate

    How It Works

    School Values & Behaviour

Children earn Dojo Points for demonstrating our school values. Awards reset each school year and are celebrated as follows:
    • 50 points – Bronze Certificate
    • 100 points – Silver Certificate
    • 150 points – Gold Certificate
    • 200 points – Platinum Certificate

    Weekly Academic Success

Each week we celebrate a Writing Star, a Maths Star, and an overall Superstar. Parents of children receiving a weekly academic certificate will be contacted and warmly invited to attend the assembly to share in their child’s success.

    Reading Success

Our Star Readers award goes to the class with the highest percentage of children reading three or more times per week, winning the Star Reading Trophy. Children who achieve Star Reader status every week for a whole term also receive a special reward.

    Attendance

Roger the Attendance Rabbit visits the class with the highest attendance each week, celebrating commitment and consistency.

    Achievement Assemblies

Achievement Assemblies take place every Friday at 9:00am, and parents are always welcome. Families will be notified in advance when their child is receiving a weekly academic award.

By celebrating effort, progress and achievement in so many different ways, we ensure that every child feels valued and recognised—because success looks different for everyone, and at Hillside Infant School, every success matters. 🌟
