  • Therapeutic Play

We support children’s emotional wellbeing through therapeutic play, a child-centred approach that helps young children express their feelings and build confidence through play.

Miss Natalie Pugh holds a Certificate in Therapeutic Play, which provides specialist training in using play-based techniques to support children’s emotional needs. This qualification includes training in:

    • Understanding children’s emotional development

    • Using play to help children express feelings safely and appropriately

    • Supporting children through transitions, worries, or difficult experiences

    • Creating a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe and secure

Miss Pugh delivers therapeutic play sessions in our dedicated therapeutic play room, which is a calm, welcoming space equipped with a wide range of carefully chosen resources. These resources support children in expressing emotions, exploring experiences, and developing emotional regulation in a safe and nurturing environment.

This training enables Miss Pugh to offer emotional support that is carefully tailored to the developmental needs of infant-aged children.

Therapeutic play may support children who are experiencing worries, difficulties with emotional regulation, challenges with friendships, or changes at home or school. Support is offered sensitively, either on an individual basis or in small groups, and always in partnership with parents and carers.
