At our school, we use Letter-join to teach handwriting. Children learn to form letters correctly and develop fluent, joined handwriting as they progress through the school.

    Our Letter Families

    Ladder letters:
    l, i, t, u, j, y

    Caterpillar letters:
    c, a, o, d, g, q, e, s, f

    Robot letters:
    r, b, n, h, m, k, p

    Zig-zag letters:
    v, w, x, z

Grouping letters into families helps children learn letters with similar movements and formations.

    Supporting Handwriting at Home

You can support your child by practising their letter formation regularly and encouraging them to use the same formation they learn at school.
