Baseline assessment

What is the Reception Baseline Assessment?

At the start of Reception, children take part in the Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA). This is a short, fun, and friendly assessment that helps teachers understand each child’s starting point in communication, language, literacy, and early maths skills. The activities are designed to be engaging and playful, so children don’t need to worry about “passing” or “failing.” The results help teachers tailor learning to each child’s needs and track their progress throughout their primary school journey.
